Castel del Monte Experience

Castel del Monte experience is a journey trought history, architecture ,food and flavors of central part of our Region.   The Swabian Emperor Frederick II built a great number of Castles in the South of Italy in the 13th Century. They are imposing, composed basically of a central quadrangular courtyard, and four quadrangular towers on each corner.                                                                                                                                                                               Except for Castel del Monte wherethe Emperor changed the classical geometric shape into an octagon.

As a result the Castle, located on top of an isolated hill at about 500 mt above sea level, looks like a magnificent crown watching over a huge territory.
The guided visit to the Swabian monument is a discovery of ancient defensive systems, and a reconstruction of its landscape as well as of its decorations.
Castel del Monte experience continues to one of the most renowned Cheese Factories of the area, where we will learn about the traditional process of the Fresh Cheese Making Demo.                                                            Before to leave a Tasting of delicious dairy products.
In the afternoon Walking Tour in Trani: a lovely stroll along Trani natural harbour, catching sight of its stunning Cathedral overlooking the sea.
